Coldtech offer preventative maintenance contracts, where one of our engineers will attend site (as per your contract) to carry out pre determind checks to suit individual unit operational specifications and make adjustments as required to ensure all fabric components of your equipment on site are running safely and efficiently. Any EHO / H&S issues identified during our visit will be rectified where parts are available from Van stock to a pre-agreed limit or specification will be replaced. A full report is provided for any other outstanding issues. 

Below are a few examples of where our maintenance contracts can help:

A Condenser is in principle the same as a car radiator where it draws air across its fins with the aid of a fan to cool hot liquid refrigerant back to a gas state. If the condenser air flow is restricted because the condenser is blocked or the fins are bent restricting are flow across a section, the cooling process is less effective meaning the compressor has to work harder and longer to achieve temperature which uses more energy costing more to run and eventually leads to premature component failure.

Ice build up on the side of a blast freezer door and frame caused by air escaping due to either a damaged door gasket, poor door alignment or damaged / uneven threshold. The result of this can be a reduction in efficiency equating to higher running cost and if left, will potentially if not addressed lead to a build up on the floor leading to a potential trip hazard.

Whether it's an integral or remote unit there is always a condensate drainage system. This can be gravity based, pumped or evaporation via a drip tray and vaporisation element. Blocked drains can cause all manner of issues, but primarily water on the floor and potential trip hazards and system component failure. 

Common drainage issues rectified include blockages, sieced or failed pump tray float mechanism, pump failures, rotten trays and vaporisation heater failure.

We check cabinet doors to ensure the doors are set correctly and that they close to seal after use, we check the gaskets and replace where necessary to maintain product temperature, we check the anti sweat heaters to ensure there is no ice build up on frames that would then advise and quote for any required works.

The inspection and deep cleaning of air on (Honeycombe) and air off grills (Air return) where required ensures equal air distribution across the cabinet to maintain even product temperature whilst preventing ice build up on evapourators that can lead to evaporator fan failure and that of electrical control components not designed for moisture / water ingress failure.
